Scenture Group in partnership with QICGRE opened its doors to the public on Thursday, 11th October 2018 – unveiling Westfield Coomera to the public. This newly built shopping complex was designed to reflect the active, social and coastal lifestyle of the community. With a huge focus on integrating the indoors with the outdoors and offering green spaces, Westfield Coomera delivers the ultimate retail, dining, lifestyle and entertainment experience to its visitors.
The $470 million development spans 59,000 square metres of indoor and leisure space, 2,433 car spaces, over 150 retailers, two levels of dining and entertainment spaces, market style fresh foods, eateries and purpose-built outdoor spaces for children and families, known as The Backyard.
The shopping centre began as a blank canvas of ideas and was reimagined as a social infrastructure within the community. The idea was to create extraordinary places to connect and enrich the community through greenery, design and colour concepts. Natural stone, beachy tones and cool greys were used throughout the complex to achieve this.
Mirotone was commissioned to provide the surface coating for the joinery and panel construction portion of the build. MIROTHANE PU 5650 Pigmented Topcoat – colour matched to Dulux Grey Eagle (in a satin finish) can be seen throughout the complex. Formulated to have superior resistance to water, general contaminants, marring and scuffing, MIROTHANE PU 5650 ensures distinctiveness of image (DOI) and results in a smooth even finish.
Westfield Coomera has reimagined what we have traditionally known as shopping complexes. It has set the standard for retail spaces as a place of connecting, enrichening and growing with the community and all who visit the complex.
