 Application Issues
 Advantages      Disadvantages
Single pack, no mixing, no pot life issues, easy to apply
In cold temperatures with high humidity the typically fast solvents may be prone to "chilling" or "blushing".
Quick dry lacquer means:
  • Good hold-up  is achievable on vertical surfaces (no sags or runs).
  • Short time before undercoat can be sanded - quick turnaround.

Unmodified, single pack NC coatings may cause problems with wax extraction on MDF thereby retarding the drying of the coating and causing patchy gloss levels.

To overcome this Mirotone has modified NC coatings that have been specially formulated for application as an undercoat on MDF.
No formaldehyde release: not irritating to eyes, throat or nose of coating applicator or those working close by.
Isocyanate free: no requirement for full-face air assisted mask during & immediately after coating application.
Excellent intercoat adhesion due to the re-softening of the previously applied coat.
