| Dirt, dust or over spray adhering to the surface or embedded in a coating film (also called Bitty or Bittyness). | |

| Unclean application conditions such as dust or overspray in paint shop. | |
| Maintain a high degree of cleanliness in the spray booth and drying rooms. Ensure spray booth filters are changed when contaminated. Sweep up overspray material, dirt and dust especially between the coating application area and spray booth access doors. | |
| Dirt in air or fluid lines. | |
| Carry out regular maintenance and house keeping on air supply lines plus water and oil traps. Flush out fluid lines at the end of each working day plus between applications of different Mirotone coating systems. Clean out fluid filters on a regular basis and discard disposable fluid filters when flushing out fluid lines between applications of different colours. Replace fluid lines on a regular basis as dried coating will build up over a period of time. | |
| Incorrect thinner addition, causing resin throw out. | |
| Use only the correct MIROSOL thinner as specified on the product data sheet. | |
| Part used cans or pails left uncovered. | |
| Replace the lid on all partly used cans and pails and strain coating before use. | |
| Incorrect addition of colourants. | |
| Power stir the Mirotone coating to create a central vortex in the can or pail. Trickle colourant into the vortex slowly, dispersing the colourant into the coating. | |
| Coating has been subjected to extreme cold that will throw some particles out of solution. | |
| Store all Mirotone coatings in a dangerous goods store and protect from frost. Store Mirotone products on wooden pallets instead of cold concrete floors. | |
