Blushing
Clear lacquers which become matt, opaque, cloudy or translucent upon application or drying.
Cause
Preventative Action
Caused by rapid drying of the lacquer and cooling of the substrate, resulting in moisture precipitating on or beneath the film. This results in a milkiness or haze in the film and is more prevalent in damp cool and high humidity.
Ensure all MIROCAT PC lacquers are applied at above 10ºC ambient temperature and with humidity conditions less than 70%.

Thin MIROLAC NC, MIROCAT PC & MIROBILD AC lacquers with a thinner blend containing no more than 10% MIROSOL 1297 Retarder in extremely high humidity conditions.

Heating the application environment e.g. with infra-red lamps, will frequently cure blushing as will re-spraying the lacquer with a mist coat of very dilute MIROLAC NC, MIROCAT PC & MIROBILD AC lacquer (thinned 90% by volume with MIROSOL 1294 Thinners).
